Danco uses all manufacturers of roofing materials, but the most common are:
Impact Resistant Shingles – Impact resistant shingles are better than standard asphalt shingles at enduring impact from hail and flying objects like branches, boards or debris that may have been lifted by the winds of a thunder storm, hurricane or twister. When choosing a high impact shingle, make sure it has received the UL 22218 Class 4 Impact Resistance classification, which is the highest possible. Many home insurance companies give reduced rates on premiums where high impact shingles were used.
The Legacy by Malarkey Roofing Products – The Legacy shingle by Malarkey Roofing Products, which we recommend, has withstood a simulation of hailstones impacting a roof at 90mph without sustaining damage. Please read more about. Read more
GAF – The Timberline ArmourShield II by GAF showed no evidence of tears, cracks, or ruptures on the front or back of the shingle after a 2 inch steel ball was dropped from 20 feet onto the top of shingle. Danco Roofing is a GAF Certified Weather Stopper Roofing Contractor.
Certainteed – Certainteed carries several styles of impact resistant shingles. Each of the options has an added fiber glass backing. It’s there to provide an enhanced level of impact resistant protection over and above the high durability these popular, strong shingles already possess. Each of these shingles has proven it can stand up to the force of a two-inch steel ball dropped from twenty feet without cracking.
Stone Coated Steel – DECRA, the original stone coated steel roofing system, represents a perfect blending of over 50 years of research and practical experience. Offering the ultimate in performance and engineering design is what DECRA Roofing Systems are all about.
Metal Roofing – Metal roofing is superior to composition roofing in all types of weather conditions, including hail, sun exposure, and wind. Unlike shingles, metal roofing will not deteriorate due to sun exposure. High winds and/or a hail storm will destroy a composition roof, but a metal roof can handle wind speeds up to 140 MPH and is extremely hail resistant. Metal roofing performs so well, that in the state of Texas, if you have a metal roof that meets Underwriters Laboratories UL2218 specifications, you can qualify for up to a 35% discount on your homeowner’s insurance.
Tile Roofing – Tile Roofing due to its resistance to severe weather, concrete and clay tiles continue to be the preferred roofing material among homeowners in areas with hurricane activity or frequent wind and hail storms like we have here in many parts of Texas. With proper installation, tile roofing is one of a few select roofing systems that is proven to withstand sustained winds of 150 miles per hour. Economical Clay and concrete tile roofs are one of the most cost-effective choices due to their long lifespan—50 to 100 years or more. Both concrete and clay tile outlast other roofing materials, with manufacturers offering warranties from 50 years to the life of the structure. In fact, in Asia and Europe, many structures with clay roof tiles have remained intact, functional and beautiful for centuries.
Composition Shingles (most common) – There are three types of composition shingles: 3-Tab shingle, Premium “dimensional” shingle and Laminated
